The Executive Committee of the Berbice Cricket Board during its monthly meeting on Sunday last agreed on the names of persons that will make up the Senior and Junior Selection Committees as well as the Special Events and Competitions Committees.
Retained as Chairman of the Senior Selection Committee is Pastor Mark Lyte with Leslie Solomon, Romesh Munna, Dhieranidranauth Somwaru and Neville Williams as the other serving members.
Long standing Chairman of the Junior Selection Committee Leslie Solomon has also been retained at the helm for 2012; support will come from Randolph Latcha, Deoprakash Ramdatt, Moses Samlall and Pastor Kevin Pereira.
Public Relations Officer of the Berbice Cricket Board Hilbert Foster expressed confidence in the performances of the selection committees as each of the selectors are well grounded on the sport having played the game at either the junior or senior level.
The two other committees named by the Board is the highly successful Special Events Committee, which continues to be led by Rose Hall Town Youth & Sports Club Secretary/CEO Hilbert Foster and the Competitions Committee headed by veteran cricket administrator Carl Moore.
Other members of the Special Events Committee are Anil Beharry, Angela Haniff, Gregory Rambarran, Leslie Solomon, Winston Smith, Romesh Munna and Julian Moore.
Moore would be assisted in the Competitions Committee by Angela Haniff, Anil Beharry, Winston Smith, Leslie Solomon, Aubrey Collins and Lionel Thomas.
President of the BCB Keith Foster informed that the success of the Special Events Committee has enabled the Board to name a few more committees since that committee has taken on the mandate of marketing, public relations, cricket development, education, charity, social events, sponsors’ relationship and community development.
Foster urged the members of the various committees to work beyond the call of duty so that Berbice cricket can continue to develop even further to ensure that the 2012 target of 22 tournaments and 80 off the field activities can be achieved.
