A faulty printer reportedly stalled the issuance of Vehicle Revenue Licences
The large crowd waiting impatiently for the cashier booth to go into operation yesterday at GRA, New Amsterdam office.
yesterday at the New Amsterdam office of the Guyana Revenue Authority (GRA).
According to reports, the problem has severely hampered services at the branch office for nearly a week now.
Customers’ payments were stalled since the cashier’s booth was closed up to midday yesterday and long lines started to build up at the office. Persons were at their wits’ end after having been made to wait and there was speculation such as, the cashier being absent; the GRA computers being down and then the most plausible report, that the cashier’s printer had been experiencing problems for some time now.
Added to the confusion yesterday was a leaking roof which resulted in customers being drenched. Many persons were complaining that they were waiting since the office opened at 08:00 hrs, venting their frustrations with the system.
Kaieteur News attempted to contact the branch manager to solicit a comment but this proved futile.
