Hassar curry poisoning…Teen further remanded as police await toxicology report

The teen who is accused of poisoning her family has been further remanded to the juvenile holding centre as police await the results of a toxicology test.
This publication was told that the test will be done by a local team at the new forensic lab. On Tuesday, last, the teen made another appearance and was remanded until March 20.
However in a twist of events, the teen’s mother, Nandranie Sukdeo, who was also a victim of the teen’s alleged action, has indicated that she will not be testifying against her daughter while the father, Sukdeo Dharamdat, has said he is more than willing to testify in the matter. The mother of the teen has now been deemed by the court as a hostile witness.
On February 9, last, five members of a Handsome Tree, Mahaicony family were rushed to the Mahaicony Hospital after they had eaten a meal of hassar curry.
Shortly after the incident the teen reportedly confided in a family member that she had laced the pot with a poisonous substance after her father had disapproved of a boy she was dating at the time.
