A two-year-old child and his father yesterday escaped without
injuries after their Canal #1 house came ‘crashing down’.
The house fell sometime after 12:15 yesterday.
According to Pansy Shepherd, she lived in the house for 19 years and raised her five children in the same house.
“I was not at home when it happened. My husband and my baby were home,” the woman lamented.
She said that she and her family are now homeless and forced to seek shelter by one of her sisters until her house is rebuilt.
A neighbour who witnessed the house as it came crashing to the ground said that she was washing clothes when a “hard breeze blow and the house fall down. I
didn’t know wha fuh do, I left stupid. I start fuh call out for neighbours and start fuh holla fuh murder because the baby was right at the window.”
After a few seconds, the father and his son were rescued from the house.
