Guyana Under-19 batsman, Kandasammy Surujnarine, slammed 119* to spearhead Albion Community Centre to an easy victory over Albion Front Travelers which maintained their unbeaten run as winners of their zone when play in the 2011 New Building Society second division 40-over cricket competition continued recently in Berbice.
The win for Albion secured their place in the final 16 playoffs. Surujnarine, whose knock included seven fours, batted through the innings to guide Albion to 254 for 2 in 40 overs, putting on 100 for the first wicket with Veerapen Permaul (50), 120 for the 2nd with Doodnauth Lallbeharry (58) and an unbroken 3rd wicket partnership of 34 with Sharaz Ramcharran (14 not out).
When Travelers replied, they were bundled out for a meagre 60. Pacer Lallbeharry picked up 4 for 19 and Guyana Under-19 leg spinner Gudakesh Motie 3 for 4.
Other batsmen to score half centuries were Rabindra Singh of Kim-Il-Sung, Gajendra Nauth of Skeldon Community Centre as well as Alvin Gobin and Alvin Ramdass, both of Tamarind Root.

Albion Community Centre 254 for 2 in 40 overs; Kandasammy Surujnarine 119 not out, Doodnauth Lallbeharry 58 and Veerapen Permaul 50. Albion Front Travelers 60 in 29.1 overs; Doodnauth Lallbeharry 4 for 19, Gudakesh Motie 3 for 4 and Veerapen Permaul 2 for 11.
At Skeldon – Kim-Il-Sung beat Skeldon Community Centre by 43 runs. Kim-IL-Sung 170 in 34.1 overs; Rabindra Singh 61, Anthony Seeraj 31, Delton Esau 4 for 14 and Junior Blair 4 for 31. Skeldon Community Centre 128 in 32.1 overs; Gajendra Nauth 74 not out; Tulsiram Munsesar 3 for 15 and Rabindra Singh 2 for 3.
At Albion Front – Tamarind Root beat Jai Hind by 6 wickets. Jai Hind 168 in 31.4 overs; Veerapen Moonsammy 43, Vishal Makhai 29, Mahendra Ramdihal 3 for 26, Reaz Khan 2 for 28 and Hemraj Ramsaroop 2 for 28. Tamarind Root 170 for 4 in 19.1 overs; Alvin Gobin 60 not out, Alvin Ramdass 52 and Mohamed Altaf 38.
