Sohan Busjit, 20 of Liverpool Village, Corentyne, will spend the next 18 months in jail if he is caught.
This is after he was found guilty by Magistrate Fabio Azore at the Whim Magistrates Court on a charge of unlawful and malicious damage to property.
Busjit was accused of damaging his stepfather’s house at Liverpool Village, Corentyne, Berbice on October 11, 2011.
According to the state’s case, on the day in question the accused, who lives with his mother and stepfather at the above address, came home under the influence of alcohol. A misunderstanding ensued and Busjit proceeded to damage a set of window panes all to the value of $ 149, 820, the property of his stepfather, Charles Mayers.
The matter was reported and he was arrested and charged. Busjit was granted bail and never returned to court.
He was described as a regular drinker and troublemaker who most times ill-treated his parents, particularly when under the influence.
