Entity to tutor two players in computer technology in excess of $400,000
By Rawle Welch
Global Technology Inc, one of the leading institutions of computer learning gave the
organizers of this year’s NaMilCo Football Festival a stunning surprise when Managing Director George Melville on Thursday afternoon made a momentous upgrade in the support the Company intends to offer the two lucky recipients of scholarship awards.
The entity over the past eight (8) years have been presenting two players selected by Fruta Conquerors FC two places to attend the foundation course in computer training at an individual cost of $30,000, but Melville, who is also the authorized agent for Apple Hardware / Software products consented to provide the opportunity for the two players to undergo the entire training in computers that has a total cost of in excess of $400,000.
Melville, a former student of Queen’s College and later on a graduate of Cambridge University seemed seriously intent on creating the foundation for the successful candidates to become adequately efficient in an area that is quite relevant in the world today and is without a doubt a stickler for higher academic achievements.
The outwardly affable Managing Director just before presenting Club Secretary Lavern Fraser-Thomas with the Certificate of Commitment in the presence of President Marlan Cole, parent Daniel Thomas and player Dwayne Lawrence was seen giving a competent demonstration of the way the IPad 2 operates and all the other related products of Apple.
Additionally, Melville offered to conduct a one-day Course for players who participate in the Fruta Conquerors Summer Camp scheduled for later this year.
Speaking at the simple ceremony conducted at the entity’s Head Office located at 210 Camp and Newmarket Streets, just before promising his business continued association with the Festival, Melville commenting on the previous package informed that it gives the recipient a start, but was not the ideal security for a bright career unless the individual decides to pursue the field further so it was on that premise that he decided to make a more tangible offer that will ensure those that benefit from the generosity is sufficiently equipped to compete in a working environment that is highly competitive.
Cole responding on behalf of the club, while evidently surprised by the improved sponsorship expressed his appreciation and satisfaction with the assistance and promised to ensure that those identified for the scholarships grab the opportunity with both hands and attend the sessions to the fullest extent.
He referred to the offer as a once in a lifetime opportunity for both players and hope that they make full use of it.
