No.71 won their final Zone O preliminary match against No.73 Young Warriors to emerge winners of
that zone to earn their spot in the last 16 playoffs of this year’s New Building Society (NBS) Second Division 40 overs cricket competition being contested in Berbice.
Leading their victory charge were Nazim Mohamed who smashed 84 (4×4 5×6) and Deoprakash Ramdatt 72 (5×4 1×6), No.71 posted 236 for 6 off their allotted 35 overs.
When the Young Warriors responded, left-arm spinner, Mahendranauth Vincent grabbed 5 for 13 from 4.3 overs to skittle them out for a paltry 63.
Also scoring half centuries in the latest round of player were Pooran Ramjattan of Bath and Yogindra Sooknanan of Whim National A.

At Letterkenny – Whim National A thumped Letterkenny Young Stars by 112 runs. Whim National A 175 in 30 overs; Yogindra Sooknanan 65, Dave Peters 4 for 33 and Parasram Tilkuram 3 for 28. Letterkenny Young Star B 63 in 20 overs; Yadram Jageshwar 4 for ‘12.
At No.43 – No.43 Scorpions brushed aside No.45 by 7 wickets. No.45 98 in 17 overs; Basil Deen 4 for 15 and Balram Samaroo 3 for 20. No.43 Scorpions 9 for 3 in 13 overs; Vermon Peters 27.
