The Lake Mainstay Resort will host the 2nd Annual Mashramani Jet Ski and Regatta Fury and an after-party this Sunday at its magnificent freshwater Lake. The action will begin at 9am with the heart-throbbing dare-devils set to compete in several events on the day.
The attractions include 16 categories of Jet Ski and Powerboat racing events, made up as follows two 1000cc-under 3 laps Jet Ski races; three 1100cc-plus 4 laps Jet Ski races; two 15hp 2 laps Powerboat races; two 40hp 3 laps Powerboat races; two 90hp 3 laps Powerboat races; two 200hp 5 laps Powerboat races; three Open hp 6 laps Powerboat races.
In the Open hp Powerboat categories of races, it will be Bartica’s champion, Randy Belle against Pomeroon’s champion, Neil Gonzales in the ‘Clash of the Titans’ as Dave Scott, and other rising stars challenges for the Champion Racer’s title in Essequibo.
There will be over two million dollars ($2m) up for grabs in total prizes monies and trophies will be handed out in all the competitive categories. After a showdown of the powerboat races, on the water, the Mash Beach Party will unfold with several performances.
Those include local soca and reggae queen, Big Red, Chutney queen, Fiona and the new GT&T song and jingle winner, Brandon. Comedian, Jumbie Jones, will be the Emcee as DJ Chris from the Chinese Assassin Sound System adds to the day’s entertainment.
Other attractions will be a Children’s Fun Park with Merry-Go-Round, Trampoline, Food Courts and Beverage Bars. Sponsors include, Banks DIH Ltd, Ansa McAl, Demerara Distillers Limited, Digicel, CARICOM Rice Mill, Guyoil, Ministry of Culture, Youth and Sport, GT&T, Ministry of Tourism, Sankar Auto Works, Impressions and IPED.
Tickets for adults cost $1000 while children tickets are $500. Tickets are available at the Elton Snackette at S/naam Market; Universal Pharmacy at Suddie; Anil Cell Phone Store at Anna Regina and Charity Markets; Gutties Variety Store at Charity and G&P Jaigobin Supermarket at Henrietta.
