A police rank, stationed at the Brickdam Police Station, was up to late night being treated at the Georgetown Public Hospital after he was accidentally shot by one of his colleagues.
According to reports, the incident occurred at around 20:00 hours yesterday in the Impact Base section of the police station.
The injured rank has been identified as Constable Thomas. This publication was told that the ranks had just returned from patrol and one was clearing his weapon when it accidentally went off hitting Thomas in his hip.
A source close to the investigation stated that the bullet exited the man’s hip. The injured rank was immediately rushed to the Georgetown Public Hospital where he was treated and subsequently admitted.
