A 40-year-old man is currently at the Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC), nursing two gunshot wounds to his left foot.
The victim, Aaron Hunter of Jawalla village, Upper Mazaruni, Region Seven, yesterday said that he was allegedly shot twice in his left foot Tuesday morning by his brother-in-law.
Hunter said that he intervened in an argument between his sister, Pam Hope, and his brother-in-law. According to Hunter, his sister was running around the village shouting for help. Her husband was pursuing her with a gun in his hands.
Aaron said that his sister managed to make it to his home.
“I was outside telling he fuh left me sister and he cussing about killing everybody. I try fuh take him home and duhs when he get vex. He take the gun and shoot me two times and then run away,” Hunter explained.
He accused his brother-in-law, who has four children with his sister, of being an abusive person. “…many times he does threaten her fuh kill she.”
After being shot, Hunter was taken to Kamarang Hospital and later transferred to the city hospital.
The brother-in-law was arrested the Tuesday.
