Dear Editor,
Just around election time a contractor was seen busy putting down six inch bore pipe lines in specific areas in New Amsterdam – Vryheid, Vrymans Erven, Smythfield, etc.
It was a welcoming gesture at first sight, because we in these areas felt that the long promise of receiving water from taps above in our homes would have been fulfilled, but instead the water situation gets worse.
What was the reason for the urgency in putting down these pipe lines? We need to know because taxpayers’ monies were involved. I am calling on the newly appointed councillors such as Mr. Hinckson (Shoulders)of AFC and Mr. Hussain of APNU, to raise this issue at the next regional council meeting and get answers.
Mr. Editor, I am using this opportunity to congratulate the newly appointed Regional 6 Chairman and his councillors. He is someone I knew well; he never would pass you without raising his hands to say hello.
However, Mr. Armogan please remember in that position your governance is for all political persuasions and you need to suppress that feeling of one party presence; your recent outburst about your party’s performance in Berbice was taken careful notice of by many.
However, we look forward for your role as a blessed patriarch in Region 6.
S.T.Fraser
