Nigel was a big photographer. De man tek out more photos than de hired photographers at Glenn daughter wedding. From de time de bride run in de place Nigel get busy. He start fuh flash. When he camera full he delete and start over. And Uncle Nigel got de nerve to ask how is only twenty pictures he tek out.
Uncle Adam and Uncle Frankie watch de man busy. De man tek close up of de floor, de roof, de bride foot and even Glenn in he suit.
And talking bout suit, dem boys never see Glenn wear something like that. It probably cost more that de whole of Kaieteur News. Was a grey thing and it look like wha dem India maharajah does wear. De thing fit he good, though.
Marcie in she sari and some other people in dem khurta and dhoti—all of dem look special except Uncle Adam and Uncle Nigel and Uncle Frankie. Dem think dem was going to some ordinary wedding. But dem had to lef de temple. De ceremony tek six hours that dem boys had to ask if de pandit was getting pay by de hour.
One man seh that de Pandit gun buy a Mercedes when de wedding done. But was a nice wedding because everybody who guh was who get invite. Nobody couldn’t pope. Is de first time dem boys see seven-curry serve like some special restaurant dish.
And poor Uncle Glenn. Because he was de father of de bride he had to do certain things. He nearly cry when de pandit tell he that he couldn’t eat or drink likker till after de wedding. That wasn’t bad until dem boys realize that de pandit tell he this de Monday, and de wedding was Friday.
Anyhow, by de time dem boys story come out de ban gun be lifted.
Talk half. Lef half.
