Rohee orders investigation into Cricket Board’s financial activities

lice acting requesting that the force conduct an immediate investigation into the affairs of the Guyana Cricket Board. There is the general belief that everything is not regular as it relates to the finical activities of the board.
“They are certain documents which have to be perused in order to ascertain the extent to which this situation obtains within the activities of the board. The investigation has already begun and I expect that it will be expedited as I have requested.”
During yesterday, fresh locks were placed on the GCB office, locking Operations Officer Robin Singh in the building, while locking some other staffers out. This was after the Court had given permission to the GCB to break the locks after they were awarded the right to return to the office which the Ministry of Sport had locked after they had set up an Interim Management Committee to administer and fix the problems affecting the game in Guyana.
This move was frowned upon by the WICB and governing body ICC with strong words of condemnation being expressed for government’s intervention and attempt to take over the sport.
The WICB with the help of CARICOM had attempted to broker a deal among the parties, but while one set are saying an agreement was tentatively reached, government representatives had indicated that no such decision was taken.
GCB Secretary Anand Sanasie yesterday said government is free to peruse their financial records and any other related documents, stating that their operations were above board. He was displeased and perplexed at the placing of new locks on the office door. The saga continues.
