Craig robbery/murder…Husband detained for questioning

As police continue their investigation into the brutal murder of 54 year-old Sita Reddy they have detained her husband to assist with investigation.
This publication was told that up to press time yesterday the man was still being questioned by police.
The woman, 54 year-old Sita Reddy of 139 Second Street Craig, East Bank Demerara was found lying in a pool of blood in the bottom flat of her two storey house. The discovery was made by the woman’s husband, Norman Reddy around 13:30 hours when he returned home from running errands.
The woman’s son-in-law, Ryan Harimal, who spoke with this publication, related that the woman’s husband arrived home and started calling for her but got no response. It was only after he returned to the bottom flat of the building then he found his wife’s body lying in a pool of blood.
The police were immediately called in and the woman’s body was taken away. A post mortem is expected to be performed on her remains today.
