Businessman and long serving president, John Lewis, Manager of Water Chris Hotel, was once again elected to serve as President of the Flying Ace Cycling Club when that entity held its Annual General Meeting recently at Port Mourant, Corentyne Berbice. Lewis’ election, as those of the other positions, was unopposed.
Attorney at Law Mursaline Bacchus will once again serve as the First Vice President. The second Vice president position will now be occupied by Edward Davis who takes over from Ganesh Singh; Singh will now serve as third vice president taking over from Dharry Tulsie.
The secretary remains policewoman Margret Kuma.
Founder and coordinator Randolph Roberts continues to bear the brunt of the work as he will still triple up as Treasurer, Public Relations Officer and the Club Coach. Former New Amsterdam Mayor and Businessman, Errol Alphonso, remains the Patron of the club.
The committee members are businessmen Fizal Ally, Rudolph Blair, Businesswoman Pearl Arokium and Dharry Tulsie.
National Junior Cycling Champion Neil Reece has been appointed the club Captain with Wayne Hasnoo serving as the vice captain. Former Long serving Secretary Rhonda Russell remains an honorary member.
The club will be holding its 11th Annual presentation and awards ceremony on Saturday 4th February at the New Amsterdam Town Hall beginning at 19:00hrs. The club will be awarding top cyclist and other persons including officials and sponsors who would have contributed significantly to their achievements, success and upward mobility during the year and past years. National cyclists Neil Reece and Marica Dick are once again the top riders of the club.
