One of Guyana’s leading electronic stores, Gizmos & Gadgets, has renewed its
cricket sponsorship of Berbice First Division team; Rose Hall Town Gizmos & Gadgets.
The Wellington Street, Georgetown based company has been the official sponsor of the side since 2010 with this year’s package totaling $275,000 along with a set of coloured clothing.
Marketing Manager Mr. Ewart Sampson handed over the sponsorship cheque to Rose Hall Town Youth & Sports Club Secretary/CEO Hilbert Foster at a simple ceremony on Thursday last. Sampson stated that Gizmos & Gadgets was proud to be associated with the leading club in Guyana and was very satisfied that the players were representing his Company’s Brand very well on and off the field of play.
Secretary/CEO Hilbert foster expressed gratitude to Gizmos & Gadgets for its continued investment in the Club, while noting that the team played unbeaten in 2011; winning the Busta Champion of Champions, Universal DVD T20, Ramcharitar Construction Services 50-over knock-out titles among several others.
The team also produced several players who represented Berbice and Guyana at the senior level, among them, Assad Fudadin, Royston Crandon, Rajiv Ivan, Shawn Pereira, Renwick Batson and Esuan Crandon.
The veteran Cricket Administrator also informed the sponsor that the team in 2011 undertook a total of 16 Personal Development and Community Development Programmes including the Lower Corentyne Teachers Award Programme, Tribute to Heroes, Feeding of the Poor Programme, Patricia Moniz Educational Trust Fund and the Annual Cricket Academy.
Foster also assured the Management and Staff of Gizmos and Gadgets that his club would continue to be the best in Guyana as it has set itself the target of 130 projects/programmes in 2012 while at the same time dominating cricket in Berbice at all levels.
The Rose Hall Town Youth & Sports Club First Division Team, since its formation in 1992, has won numerous First Division titles and has produced six national senior players and a total of fifty two for Berbice at all levels.
