Inclement weather takes toll on outdoor activities
The one day Horserace meet organized by the Norman Singh Memorial Turf Club in collaboration with the Winners Circle Pool Hall has been postponed due to the inclement weather. Continuous rainfall over the past 24 hours has left the venue, the Norman Singh Memorial Turf Club at NO6 West Coast Berbice, waterlogged, reducing it to a virtual pool, thus forcing the organizers to postpone the activity to a later date.
Eight races were carded for the day with $8M in cash and trophies up for grabs. The feature B class event would have seen the cream of the crop on show for the $1.2M top money. Among them were the Message, Donut Prince, Get Set Go, Grande De Roja and Marathon Man.
The West Indies Bred three year old race had the likes of Settle in Seattle, Serenity, Windy war, Rock Sonia and Storm in a Tea Cup.
The newly introduced 4 year old event had in its line up Technology, Swing Easy, Work Force, Damascus Dream, Captain Crook, Bridal Stone Corner and Super cat.
Night Crescendo, Top of the Line, Got to Go; Home Bush Baby, Majestic, the Bailiff and Face the Music were among those in the E and Lower event, while I want Revenge and Watch My Shadow were among those in the three year old race for Guyana Bred and Born horses.
The other events were to feature G class horses, ‘I’ and lower and Division 1, 2 and 3 animals.
Over 80 horses had entered to participate and a number of animals and grooms were already at the venue.
Among the sponsors were Winners Circle Pool Hall, Banks DIH Limited, Trophy Stall Bourda Market. Jumbo jet Auto sales, Shariff racing Stables.
