The five men accused of setting fire to the Supreme Court and attempting to murder some policemen of Georgetown’s main police station in November 2009 will know their fate this Friday.
The men, Colin Jones, Randy Mars, Basil Morgan, Anthony Watson and Jahfar Sampson, are accused of attempting to kill officers at the Brickdam Police Station after an alleged attack on the police station and trying to set fire to the Supreme Court.
The accused appeared before Magistrate Priya Sewnarine- Beharry on Wednesday and were told that the court had not yet finished perusing the case file. The magistrate said that the file was a very big one and she had decided to use the day to continue studying the facts of the document. Magistrate Beharry said she was not yet ready to make a ruling and thus gave the men the new date to return.
On the last occasion, the prosecution said that it had finished presenting their case against the five accused and that it is now left up to the court to decide what should be done with them.
