Ex-cop jailed for forging dead mom’s signature

A former policeman, who was found guilty of forging his dead mother’s signature, was yesterday sentenced to an 18-month jail term by resident magistrate Ms. Leron Daly.
Pooran Lall, 61, of Aberdeen Village, was also charged with forging witnesses’ signatures.
The case against Lall took 17 months and according to reports, Lall who is the eldest of three siblings, forged his dead mother’s signature to claim two house lots and two blocks of rice lands all belonging to his deceased mother, Rada Nandalall.
Lall’s mother died in 1989 and according to reports, the former policeman commenced issuing a restraining order against his youngest brother, Kumar Lall, who was occupying his mother’s house at Three Friends, Essequibo.
Pooran was living at his place, at Aberdeen, a house his deceased mother had built for him.
