Theme: “It’s Our Game”
With a challenge to the Guyana Softball League (GSL) of doubling last year’s number of teams (1224) which would see the prize monies also being doubled, the third edition of the GT&T 10/10 Nationwide Softball Cricket tournament was yesterday unveiled at the main sponsors BlackBerry Office, 55 Brickdam.
CEO Yog Mahadeo in feature remarks threw out the challenge to President of the GSL Halim Khan and his executive during his presentation. Also gracing yesterday’s activity with their presence were representatives of the other sponsors who have teamed up to make this year’s edition, one to remember.

The GT&T 10/10 competition has become a household event and has etched its name in the sporting calendar as the largest competition in terms of teams registering to compete.
Mahadeo, during his presentation stated that he was proud but humbled by the massive response the tournament has received over the past two years.
“It’s amazing that when you breathe life into something and you give it the positive thought, word and push, how you can energize a country and community. GT&T is extremely proud but humbled by the response that we have had over the past two years and it is with much eagerness that we launch this 3rd annual competition.”
The gathering was reminded that the competition is held in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture Youth and Sport and the GSL which bodies have been very supportive from the inception.
Also singled out for special mention were the supporting sponsors, Banks DIH, Kings Jewellery World, Guyana Lottery, Gizmos & Gadgets, NCN, Impressions and Cell Phone Shack.
“And let me also go further to mention the nuts and channa man, the ice man the vendors everybody who has rallied around the game and made it meaningful to them and Guyana, hats off them, I applaud you and look forward to your continued support through this year’s tournament.”
Male and female teams from across Guyana will again be relishing the opportunity of competing for what is expected to be bigger first place prizes this year. Defending the male title will be Wolf Warriors, while on the distaff side Berbice All Stars will hope to repeat.
Registration forms will only be available from the very colorful GT&T 10/10 Magazine that was Edited by Brij Parasnath and will be available at all GT&T Commercial Offices, Members of the GSL (Coordinators), and selected GT&T C-Point Dealers nationwide at a cost of $1,000.
The registration process commenced yesterday and will end on February 11 with the first games set to bowl off on February 18.
Mahadeo informed that a total of 30-Million dollars in cash and prizes will be up for the taking with fans expected to cash in big.
“The tournament continues to evolve and this year there are a few changes to the tournament that we feel are necessary as the tournament climbs to greater heights. We have noted that the following of this magnificent game is very energetic and wide reaching. And so we want to reward our fans for their vibrant support for the game. Fans will have the chance to win the SUV which is up for grabs through a texting game ‘Fansuv’.”
Also giving remarks at yesterday’s launch were the representatives of the co-partners who all endorsed the tournament while pledging their continued support.
