Courtland All Star and No.64 Fighting Marines both won their last preliminary matches to end unbeaten in their
respective zones thus, becoming the latest teams to reach the last-16 playoffs of the 2011 New Building Society Second Division 40 over cricket competition in Berbice.
In Zone G, Courtland All Star’s victory over Chesney was due mainly to a fine all-round performance from John Percival who scored 60 (6×4 3×6) to help his team past 165 in 29 overs. He came back with his off spin to snare 6 for 17 from 5.4 overs to see Chesney fall for 91 in reply.
