The inaugural Banks DIH sponsored Beach Football League kicked off on Sunday last in the Bauxite Mining Town of Linden with the March Past and four matches.
Top 25, Vasco and The Development Team were the victors on the day with the Cool Runnings vs Eagles match ending in an exciting 5-5 draw.
Top 25 edged Silver Shattas 4-3 in a pulsating game, the winners got their goals from Shakie Charles, Delon Billey and Keith Bailey with a brace, while Silver Shattas responded through Colwyn Davids (a double) and Damion Williams.
Wisroc and Vasco ended 5 – 4 in favor of Vasco.
In yet another high octane affair, Vasco triumphed over Wisroc by a 5-4 scoreline. For Vasco, Oswin Hope netted a hat-trick with a double off the boot of Jason Allicock. Wisroc got their goals from Jonathon Federicks who converted twice, Collis Gift and Oswin Hope tucking in one each.
The Development Team recorded the first walk over of the tournament; Blue Berry Hill failing to show up, while Cool Runnings and Eagles battled to a 5-5 draw.
For Eagles the players on target were Nigel Bradford who scored twice, Derron Smith, Dirk Farrell and an own goal accounted for the others.
Cool Runnings found the back of the nets through efforts from Kennard Simon (2), Seon Brewley, Errol Davids and Marlon Benjamin.
Matches will continue tomorrow from 17:00hrs.
