The Environmental Community Health Organization (ECHO) will be conducting a series of training sessions for coaches or teachers involved with its programme in echo-clubs in schools, says Royston King, Executive Director.
The first session is scheduled for early February in Region 10. This will be followed by another session in Regions Three and Four, where the organization recently launched its Green Ambassadors Programme.
The objective of this initiative is to build capacity among coaches and volunteers in the areas of Environmental Education and approaches to communicating environmental and health issues among children and young adults, in local communities.
These sessions are vital to raising awareness on very serious environmental and health issues and events within schools and communities.
King related that ECHO is grateful for the support of its partners and friends in its advocacy for good environmental stewardship and healthy communities and healthy lives. These include: John Fernandes Ltd, Humphrey Bakery, Humphrey Jewellery, PAHO/WHO, and Cara Lodge and Ali Supermarket.
