…dead birds found in House
Hussein Ganga, 35, of 74 Village, Corriverton, who told the Court that he is a mechanic was on Wednesday remanded to jail by magistrate Fabio Azore. He appeared before her at the Whim Magistrate’s Court on a charge of break and enter and larceny of poultry.
According to Prosecutor Corporal Roberto Figueira, on Saturday December 31 Ganga is alleged to have stolen 35 ducks and five fowls from Nalinie Singh, a poultry Farmer of Number 75 village Corriverton, Corentyne, Berbice.
On the day in question the woman had secured her pen with her birds and had gone out. Upon her return she noticed her pen was broken and some of her poultry missing. A report was made at the Springlands Police Station.
After diligent investigation some of the dead poultry (ducks and fowl) were found at the man’s home and he could not give any proper account as to how he came in possession of the birds. He was arrested, charged and remanded to prison.
The matter was transferred to the Springlands Magistrate Court for next Thursday.
