Horseracing takes a break with the racing season coming to an abrupt end due to the inclement weather which caused a postponement of the Season ending Grand Finale meet which was slated for Sunday 1st January at the Rising Sun Turf Club.
Most of the stables, owners, trainers and other connections will be turning their attention in replenishing their stocks and doing repairs and medical check up on their animals. Others will be going overseas and some have already gone to seek new animals to restock their stables. The animals will have approximately one month rest before the new racing date.
Meanwhile, two of the leading Clubs, the Ryan Crawford Memorial Turf Club and Racing Facilities (RCMTC&SF) at Alness, Corentyne, Berbice and the Rising Sun Turf Club (RSTF) at Rising Sun, Arima Park, West Coast, Berbice have released racing dates for the Year 2012/2013 racing season. Both clubs have six racing dates available.
The Year will get cracking with a nine event meet at the RCMTC on Sunday 5th February 2011, while the Rising Sun Turf Club will have their first meet on Sunday 19th February. The full releases are as follows: The Ryan Crawford Memorial Turf Club dates are as follows- Sunday 5th February, Sunday 25th March, Sunday 1st July, Sunday 23th September and Sunday 25th November.
The Rising Sun Turf Club will have their first meet on Sunday 19th February has also released racing dates which are as follows Sunday 19th February, Sunday 15th Aril, Sunday 1st May, Sunday 27th May, Sunday 12th August, Sunday 9th September, and Sunday 25th November
