The 2011 Memorex Enterprise-sponsored Leslie Amsterdam Memorial Under-17 two-innings cricket competition in Berbice which resumed recently saw the prolific Avishkar Sewkarran continuing his good showings with the bat when he registered scores of 53 and 81 for Bath against No.7 Silver Park.
Sewkarran, who had scores of 103 and 36 in his previous matches of this competition and who also, slammed 101* in a recent New Building Society Second Division match, also picked up 4 for 15 in Silver Park’s first innings, leading Bath to a comprehensive 137-run win.
After Police’s off spinning all-rounder Leon Andrews did well to take 6 for 31 to restrict Tucber Park to 149 in their first innings, he came back with the bat to score 63 guiding his side to first innings points despite medium pacer Martin Singh excellent returns of 7 for 52 for Tucber Park.

At Bath – Bath mauled No.7 Silver Park by 137 runs. Bath’s first innings 133; Avishkar Sewkarran 53, Joel Jacobs 5 for 46, Charran Hardial 4 for 47 and 2nd innings 124 for 4 declared; Avishkar Sewkarran 81. No.7 Silver Park first innings 76; Naresh Mahadeo 24, Anil Nandram 4 for 11, Avishkar Sewkarran 4 for 15 and 2nd innings 44; Zamin Khan 3 for 15 and Anil Nandram 4 for 15.
At the Berbice High School Ground – Police took first innings points from Tucber Park in their drawn match. Tucber Park first innings 149; Hakeem Hinds 38, Waqar McKenzie 27, Gavin Moriah Jnr. 23*, Leon Andrews 6 for 31, Totaram Latchmi Narine 2 for 23. Police first innings 203; Leon Andrews 63, Marlon Shepherd 49, Clifton Lindee jnr 25, Martin Singh 7 for 52, Kierre Henry 2 for 29.
At Blairmont, Achievers defeated Blairmont Community Centre by 3 wickets after conceding first innings points. Blairmont Community Centre first innings 69; Ridwan Ramjohn 21, Quacy McPherson 4 for 5, Randy Wade 2 for 2, Grisean Grant 2 for 9 and second innings 74.
Achievers first innings 48 for 7 declared; Ridwan Ramjohn 3 for 15, Parmanand Ramdhan 3 for 16 and second innings 96 for 8; Randy Wade 40, Thomas McDonald 3 for 19, Ridwan Ramjohn 3 for 15 and Parmanand Ramdhan 2 for 21.
