The 2011 New Building Society Division 40 overs cricket competition continued recently with
Berbice Under-17 all-rounder Derick Narine-Lalsa Jnr. turning in a brilliant performance for one time champions D’Edward in their victory over Rosignol United.
Narine-Lalsa hit 87 (5×4 6×6) in D’Edward’ 229 all off 39.1 overs. When Rosignol replied, Narine-Lalsa Jnr, with his leg spin snared 4 for 25 from 6.4 overs; combining with left arm pacer Christian France who grabbed 5 for 57 from 8 overs to bowl out Rosignol for 128 despite a fighting undefeated knock of 88 from opening batsman and former national Volleyball Captain Seon Glasgow.
Also scoring half centuries were Guyana Under-19 batsman Kandasammy Surujnarine and Doodnauth Lallbeharry both playing for Albion Community Centre in their victory over Tamarind Root.
Former Essequibo off spinner Andrew Williams along with another off spinner Handel DeJonge took four wickets each to help Tucber Park ‘A’ bowl out Seawell for 69; Tucber went on to win by 7 wickets.

At D’Edward – D’Edward hammered Rosignol United by 101 runs. D’Edward 229 off 39.1 overs; Derick Narine-Lalsa Jnr. 87, Kevon Jawahir 41, Jaipaul Heeralall 29, Curtis Moore 2 for 48. Rosignol 128 in 22.4 overs Seon Glasgow 88, Christian France 5 for 57 and Derick Narine-Lalsa jnr 4 for 25.
At Albion Front – Albion Community Centre defeated Tamarind Root by 6 wickets. Tamarind Root 185 for 9 in 40 overs, Alvin Ramdass 42, Mahendra Ramdihal 33, Avinash Wajib 3 for 28, Veerapen Permaul 2 for 35 and David Latchaya 2 for 45. Albion Community Centre 186 for 4 in 28 overs; Dudnauth Lallbeharry 73 and Kandasammy Surujnarine 52.
At Seawell – Tucber Park A turned back the challenge of Seawell by 7 wickets. Seawell 69 in 19.5 overs; Andrew Williams 4 for 10 and Handel DeJonge 4 for 14. Tucber Park A 69 for 3 in 19.5 overs; Petam Dhanraj 2 for 45.
At Shieldstown – Shieldstown got past Blairmont Community Centre by 42 runs. Shieldstown 181 in 35 overs; Andrew Joynauth 44, Zulfiquor Bux 31, Gansie Lalsa 3 for 20, Parmanand Ramdhan 2 for 29. Blairmont Community Centre 139 in 29 overs; Anthony Narine 25, Heeralall Bridgelall 4 for 26 and Andrew Joynauth 3 for 16.
At Goed Bananen Land – Celebrity Times beat Young and Restless by 8 wickets. Young and Restless 86 in 22 overs; Dhanesh Gopaul 30, Totaram Seenanan 4 for 9 and Balram Samaroo 3 for 16. Celebrity Times 88 for 2 in 9 overs; Balram Samaroo 42 not out.
At Tain – Tain Block Four beat Port Mourant B by 8 wickets. Port Mourant B 95 in 27 overs; Danraj Janach 4 for 19 and Anil Chattergoon 4 for 30. Tain Block Four 97 for 2 in 16 overs; Jairam Mangal 39* and Balram Baldeo 33*.
