Two murdered in seperate incidents…Miner shot and killed

A father of five was yesterday shot and killed after he was involved in a heated
The dead man’s reputed wife Ivy Orna and three of his five children
argument with another man at Enachu, Cuyuni, in Region Seven. Dead is Oscar De Roche, 43, of Samaroo Dam, Pouderoyen, West Bank Demerara.
The man’s reputed wife, Ivy Orna, yesterday told Kaieteur News that she got the message shortly 07:00hrs yesterday. The woman said her husband’s employer called and informed relatives. Orna said the message changed every Christmas plan that the family made.
She said the family is still to get a detailed explanation from the police into what really happened. Relatives yesterday disclosed that the last time they saw De Roche was around elections time when he came out to vote. His wife said that he had promised to be home for the New Year or for her birthday.
The police yesterday said that they had no further information into the incident and a team of investigators has been dispatched to the area.
Only last week three men were shot and robbed after bandits relieved them of a quantity of raw gold. Miner Cleveland Smithet was shot and killed. His brother Trevor Smithet and Lloyd David were both shot during the robbery too.
