Quick action by police has resulted in the arrest of two youths and the recovery of over $6M from Wednesday’s night’s daring $10M heist at the Western Union outlet in Church Street.
Kaieteur News understands that the youths, aged 18 and 22, were detained in a house, where the cash was recovered.
Police sources said that both suspects are from South Ruimveldt.
A police release said that Western Union employees Maria Pires, 20, and Samantha Adonis, 32, were in the business place at around 21:45 hrs on Wednesday when two men held them at gunpoint.
The perpetrators then took away $10M and the victims’ cell phones before escaping on a motor cycle.
