No objection to $186M schools’ biscuit contract

Five contracts were given “no objection” at Cabinet’s December, 20 statutory meeting.

Cabinet Secretary Dr. Roger Luncheon, at a post-Cabinet media briefing on Thursday, said that the contracts are in the areas of education, health, water and sports.

The contracts that were approved are as follows:

Tenders Amount
(EDUCATION) Supply of biscuits under the National School Feeding Programme for the 2011-2012 academic year. $186M
(HEALH) Execution of site preparation work for the Specialty Hospital at Turkeyen. $97M
(WATER) Installation of roads, drains and structures at Foulis, East Coast Demerara.  $28.1M 
(WATER) Installation of transmission mains at Herstelling, East Bank Demerara. $32.5M
(SPORTS) Construction of track and field facilities, boundary fence and ticket booth at the Synthetic Track, Leonora, West Coast Demerara. $65.8M
