Over 75 horses have taken entry as preparations wind down for the Kennard Memorial annual One day Boxing Day Horserace meet slated for Monday December 26 at the Club’s entity situated at Bush Lot Farm on the Corentyne.
There has been a slight change with the C class event now upgraded to B class.
With 10 races listed and over $6.7M in cash and other incentives available an action packed day of racing is anticipated.
A number of top entries have entered for the feature race which will cover a distance of One Mile for the hefty $1M winner’s money and trophy compliments of the Kharaj Family and Metro. Among the horses entered are The Massage, Jet Set Go, Grande de Roja, and the newly imported the Clever cat, Got to Go, Home Bush Baby, Stormy Flame, One crazy cat, Wad a Luck, Star tracer, and Who is on the case.
The 3-yrs-old race for horses Bred and born in Guyana and the West Indies also over one mile for the $500,000 top money is once again expected to be hotly contested with Technology, Captain Crook, Face the Fire, Damascus Dream, Sweet Miss, Money Train and Gold Plated looking for the gold.
Most of the horses entered for the Feature B class race have been reentered for the D class event which will see the animals cover a distance of six furlongs for the winning take of $400,000.
The first of the two year old six furlongs events also has winning money of $400,000 and again will see the best in the business line up for the expected battle with Settle in Seattle, Serenity, Red Cloud, Happy Choice, Something Stylish, Rock Sonia, Time have change and It feels like gold battling for the gold medal.
The event for Two Year old Guyana Bred Horses will be run over a distance of 6 Furlongs for a winner’s money of $300,000 and trophy. We want revenge, Watch My shadow, Blessing and Stylish looking to see who will run away with the top prize.
The G and Lower race is another 6 furlongs event for a $300,000 purse with the top notch field including Top of the line, Face the music, Prado’s Gold, Bridal Stone Corner, Spanish Love, Maya, Miracle Run, and Peace and love.
The H and Lower race goes for 7 furlongs with the first prize tagged at $220,000 among those going are Royal Champion, Dream Girl, Savion, Royal Salute, Serenity, Wicked Intention, and Prospectors Pride.
The I1 and lower 6 furlongs event will see the winner receiving $180,000. Sun Raiser, Funny Sided, Try Again, Diplomat, Bounty Flyer, and Little Spike among others are in that field.
There is $160,000 available for the winner of the I3 event which covers a distance of 6 furlongs and has some 15 entries, while the winner of the K class contest also over six furlongs will see the champion taking away $100,000 and has another nine horses running.
The outstanding jockeys, Trainer and stable will all received trophies and other accolades compliments of Businessman Ramesh Sunich of the Trophy Stall, Bourda Market.
