Charges are likely to be laid against ‘Buddy’ who was arrested on Wednesday night last for the murder of 25-year-old Carl Francis, at Issano Middle Mazaruni.
A post mortem on Francis’s remains revealed that he died as result of a ruptured spleen and stomach which was as a result of an incise wound to his abdomen. Government Pathologist Dr Nehaul Singh conducted the post mortem yesterday morning at the Georgetown
Public Hospital mortuary. The examination also revealed that the victim also had a stab wound to his forearm.
Initial reports are that 25-year-old Carl Francis of Dog Point, of Greater Bartica was stabbed by a man identified only as ‘Buddy’.
The incident occurred on Wednesday last at Issano, Middle Mazaruni. This publication was told that Francis went into Winfield Bar to make a purchase when he was attacked by the man identified as ‘Buddy’. The incident occurred some time around 21:00 hours in full view of other persons who failed to render assistance.
On the night in question this publication was told that ‘Buddy’ first attacked Francis while the victim was in the shop. After receiving two stabs under his left side arm reports are that Francis fled from the shop with his attacker in pursuit.
Buddy was eventually accosted as the injured man was taken to the community Medex where he was treated for his injuries but succumbed some time later the night.
There are reports too that ‘Buddy’ was held four years ago for allegedly killing another man in a similar fashion. Persons in the area all consider ‘Buddy’ a ‘mad man’ who prowls Issano Landing with a knife.
