More than 500 families in Providence, East Bank Demerara, benefitted last Sunday from a
$1.2M donation in hampers made by HBS Video Production.
Emphasis was placed on single parents, also kids below age 10 received gifts from Santa Claus.
HBS Video Production is a local television programme that aims at promoting local talent through a weekly organized show “The Local Hour” that was established two years ago.
The initiative started some two years ago with a small distribution to 50 families in 2009 and has today grown to 500 beneficiaries.
According to Rupesh Singh, the proprietor of HBS, the contribution was made in order to assist the less fortunate in Guyana, especially around the Christmas season; he also plans to expand his distribution by next year so that more persons can benefit.
Rupesh and his wife Samantha Singh would like to thank the companies who supposed them in fulfilling their dreams of “bringing Christmas” to those in need.
