A 20-year-old man is currently in police custody following an accident in the vicinity of the Cemetery Road, East La Penitence.
Frederick Boyce sustained lacerations to his body after he was struck down by a motorcar. Kaieteur News was told that Boyce was fleeing from the police when he rode into the path of the car.
This newspaper was told that, as the police was trying to assist in getting Boyce to the hospital, a gun fell from his waist. The .38 revolver and six matching rounds have been lodged with the police. Investigations into the matter are continuing.
