For this Christmas season, Scotia Bank continued one of their annual donations to the less fortunate.
Christmas means different things to different people, at Scotia Bank every year at Christmas time the staff, family and friends get together for an evening of caroling, sharing and giving.
On Wednesday last, a team from the bank walked and sang carols through the streets of the city with Santa and Mrs. Claus on a horse cart.
The crew visited several homes and organizations including Ptolemy Reid Rehabilitation Centre, Joshua House, St. Ann’s Orphanage, New Nazareth Homestead, St. Vincent de Paul Homestead, the Chase Home and the Hadfield Centre.
According to Marketing Manager of Scotia bank, Jennifer Cipriani, the institute has been going around on horses and carts for the past few years with the aim of “bringing the Christmas to the less fortunate”.
The manager added that this year the bank planned to go back to the true style of caroling when the staff and other members walked through the streets, stopping at each home along the route.
This publication understands that the staff members assisted with the gifts donated to each home while the bank donated hampers worth between $75,000 and $100,000.
