Georgetown Turf Club race Meet at Mocha postponed

The Georgetown Turf Club horserace Meet today at their Mocha Arcadia, East Bank Demerara racetrack has been postponed after heavy rainfall inundated the track yesterday.
And with the rain expected to persist, the organisers have decided to hold the event sometime next month.
Seven races had been planned with the main event sponsored by Banks DIH and will see H & Lower horses battling over 1200m for a $200,000 first prize.
Other events will see competitors in I & Lower and I3 & Lower race will be vying for 160 thousand and 140 thousand dollars respectively. The VD Auto Sale K & J Class race has one hundred and twenty thousand dollars to be won, while the Hotel Tower sponsored L & Lower race covers a distance of 1200 meters for a purse of $110,000.
The winner of the Un-classified race will walk away with $100,000. Cart Horses are to compete in the Cart Horse race for an $80,000 first prize.
