With the launching of ‘Adopt-A-Landmark’ by the Guyana Beach Football Association (GBFA) last year and its initial project at the Christiansburg Community Centre, GBFA has signed a two years contract with the Linden Mayor and Town Council to adopt one of the city Landmarks.
The project, which is sponsored by Banks DIH, Bella Lumber Yard, Mrs. Kay’s Snackette, and Cearon Internet will be to protect and enhance Linden’s landmarks by general care and maintenance which will also provide a safe place for everyone to enjoy as well as teach today’s youths to feel ownership and pride in their city.
I was disclosed that the project will also aid in beautifying Linden which includes cleaning litter, raking leaves, removing graffiti, clearing weeds, caring for ecosystems, planting native plants and applying paint to areas that is needed at a minimum of six times per adopted year.
