Two held after Cumberland robbery

Reliance, Canje police arrested a man and his wife late Thursday afternoon in connection with the robbery of S. Sattaur & Son Grocery and Lotto Outlet, Cumberland Public Road. According to co-owner of the business, Tilottma Sattaur, she had closed the business around 12:30 hrs to go out. On her return some time before 15:00 hrs, she discovered the back door open.
She said that she immediately ran into the business and discovered that a few bags that contained huge sums of money were missing.
Phone cards were also missing.She said that she then checked the upper flat of the building where everything seemed normal.
Her brother- in- law, whom she alerted immediately telephoned the police who arrived on the scene and recorded statements.
The man and wife team is in police custody at the Reliance Police Station assisting with investigations.
