The Georgetown Turf Club is back and they will hope with a bang as they stage a seven event racehorse Meet on Sunday at their Mocha Arcadia, East Bank Demerara racetrack starting at 12:30pm.
Work has been done to the facility and even the access road has been spruced up so patrons would have an easy time traveling to the venue.
The main event is sponsored by Banks DIH and will see H & Lower horses battling over 1200m for a $200,000 first prize.
Other events will see competitors in I & Lower and I3 & Lower race will be vying for 160 thousand and 140 thousand dollars respectively.
The VD Auto Sale K & J Class race has one hundred and twenty thousand dollars to be won, while the Hotel Tower sponsored L & Lower race will see riders and their mounts dashing around the Mocha Arcadia racetrack to cover a distance of 1200 meters for a purse of $110,000.
The winner of the Un-classified race will walk away with $100,000. Cart Horses are also expected to compete in the Cart Horse race for an $80,000 first prize.
Over 50 racehorses have been registered so far and $2M in prizes to be won and fans are being promised a treat.
