Dec 16, 2011 Letters
The Editor,
I refer to the letter “Begging Bowl Comes Out” in the edition of Wednesday December 14, 2011.
Both the Minister of Culture, Youth and Sport Dr. Frank Anthony and his Permanent Secretary Mr. Alfred King have responded adequately to this issue in another section of the print media.
The over-enthusiastic actions of our Social Committee have since been dealt with internally. As has been explained, the Ministry really has no need to actual solicit funds for our Christmas Luncheon.
One point in your letter column needs clarification, however. Permanent Secretary Mr. Alfred King was nowhere near the Ministry to sign such circular letters, as he was all the way in Paris, France during that period.
Alfred King
Permanent Secretary
