The President of the Guyana Karate Association (GKA) has passed all requirements and was elevated to the level of National Referee by the Trinidad and Tobago Karate Federation Referee Council (TTKF-RC). Ricky Jagnarain, 5th Dan, -WUKO has been in karate over thirty years and hold senior grades in both Shotokan (ISKF) and Shito-Ryu. With this grade, he will be pursuing his Continental Referee certification under the World United Karate Organization (WUKO). Sensei Jagnarain will also be taking the next referee course with the United States Sports Specialty Association (USSSA) National Karate programme.
He will be using his skill and expertise to promote quality officiating training to GKA members and the wider Guyana karate community. Sensei Jagnarain will be leading the Guyana delegation to the WUKO Caribbean Cup which will take place in Port of Spain from September 22nd to 23rd, 2012.
