A 26-year old man who fell from a log loader Tuesday last, at Baramita, Region One is currently nursing serious injuries in the Incentive Care Unit (ICU) of the Georgetown Public Hospital Cooperation (GPHC).
According to reports, the incident occurred around 9:00am on Tuesday at the man’s work site in Baramita.
Injured is Chris Torries, a logger who works for a dredge owner, Winston (only name given).
The victim’s brother said that he and 10 workmates along with his brother were about to offload the log loader which was packed with a “high pile” of light wood.
He said that Torries climbed to the top of the log loader without knowing that the wood was “light wood”. After he reached the top, the logs started falling and his brother fell “off the truck”.
He was picked up in an unconscious state and rushed to a hospital in Baramita. He was later transferred to the GPHC.
