Bagotstown business man and one Presidential Candidate for the Fundamental Support Group, Anthony Snow,
was yesterday placed on $300,000 on a charge of inflicting grievous bodily harm.
Snow made an appearance at the Providence Magistrate before Magistrate Leslie Sobers.
It is alleged that on Wednesday December 7, last, at 24/7 Restaurant and Bar which is owned by Snow, he (Snow) grievously harmed Sham Ramdatt who at the time was a customer at his restaurant. To the charge Snow pleaded not guilty. He was represented by Attorney-at-law Glen Hanoman.
Sham Ramdatt who is a businessman of Lot 30 First Street Diamond East Bank Demerara, was also charged. He was charged with common assault and abusive language.
The court was told that Ramdatt was consuming alcohol at Snow’s Restaurant. However when it was time for him to pay he realized that his money was ‘stolen’.
He informed Snow and assured him that he would pay his bill before he left. An argument started and it is alleged that Ramdatt assaulted Snow.
In turn it is alleged that Snow dealt Ramdatt several blows about his body which resulted in him (Ramdatt) suffering a fractured nose. The matter was reported and both men arrested and charged.
Ramdatt was placed on $15,000 bail. Both men are expected to return to court on January 10, 2012.
