The HIV section of the Guyana Teachers’ Union took its World AIDS Day exercise to Wakenaam on Thursday. At 18:30 hours there was a torchlight parade from the Wakenaam Cottage Hospital to the Sans Souci Primary School. That parade attracted more than 400 participants.
Among those present was the President of the Guyana Teachers’ Union, Colin Bynoe.
At the Sans Souci Primary School there was a concert which swelled the participants to over 500.
The theme for this year’s HIV awareness is GETTING TO ZERO.
