Popular race walker, Rudolph Holder was unanimously elected to serve as President when the Den Amstel Football Club held its Annual General Meeting at their Den Amstel clubhouse on October 30 last.
Several other individuals were elected into executive positions including Bilaal Nantambu (Vice President), Denise Lovell (Secretary/Treasurer), Garfield Payne (Manager) and Severn Austin (Players’ representative).
The 75-year-old Holder will best be remembered for his sterling walking feats among much younger competition. It is his indomitable spirit that has tipped the scale in his favour for the Presidency of the club.
The septuagenarian has since promised to work assiduously with the other executives to reignite the football dreams of the members of the club and community.
