Thirty seven schools will vie for honours when the Holy family Bible Club (HFBC) stages its annual inter-schools 7-a-side knock out football championships on the St Stanislaus ground, Carifesta Avenue, Saturday December 10.
The national athletic championships have just concluded and if the action seen at that meet is anything to go by then lovers of the sport could expect stiff competition characterized by intense rivalry.
The HFBC comprises a group of young people that convenes on Wednesdays to engage in Bible studies. They also conduct similar sessions at city schools during lunch recess. The membership of the church also subscribe to the belief that sports is the catalyst to the development of young people thus its efforts to organize the requisite sports activities.
Several corporate entities have contributed to the success of the meet including Excel Mineral, Giftland Office Max, Delta Airlines, Colours Boutique and Johil of North Road. The coordinators are Dereck Young and Quincy Williams.
