Dear Editor,
There are times when a people’s past comes back to haunt them. If the supporters of the PNC/R, now a Partnership with some other parties had not in the past protested without turning to violence and riot, the situation here, at this time, would have been different.
The people’s mistake has led to stereotyping, discrimination, victimization etc. by the P.P.P/C. This has allowed for a psychological play on the mind of the people, placing them in deeper mental slavery under domination and intimidation.
In a democracy, it is the peoples’ democratic right to protest. Protesting and rioting with violence are two different things. When the need arises for the people, here, to protest they are being stopped and branded like hooligans going to riot.
Will this ever change? Mandela came out of jail and asked his people to forgive. If the PPP/C really had the interest of the entire nation at heart, they would join with A.P.N.U and the A.F.C and have an inclusive Government and let this entire nation heal and really progress.
