After a short break to accommodate the General Elections which was staged on Monday, November 28, Round of 16 Knockout action in this year’s ‘Guinness Greatest in de Street’ Futsal Competition resumes tomorrow with eight matches at the National Cultural Centre Tarmac, starting from 19:00 hrs.
In the opening fixture, YMCA is scheduled to engage Upper Level Barber Shop and that will be followed by the Media versus Sweet Point from 19:30 hrs.
The next encounter will see BV take on Queen Street of Tiger Bay from 20:00 hrs, while Oasis do battle with Guinness Bar from 20:30 hrs after which their will be a short intermission, before the next round of matches for the night starts.
Immediately after the break, Customs go head to head with Clippers Barber Shop and that clash will be followed by the game between West Front Road and Globe Yard, while
Charlestown battles Hope Street of Tiger Bay with the final match of the night bringing together Durban Street and Alexander Village.
Meanwhile, the Organisers have intimated that the tournament has been a huge success to date with support far exceeding previous years.
On the issue of discipline, the Organisers told this newspaper that the fans have displayed admirably maturity and extended thanks to them, while calling on them to continue in that vein so that the event though enormous in magnitude could remain viable and scrutiny test in terms of discipline.
