Play in the 77th Birthday Inter Ward, Street and Village Knockout football fiesta for Mayor Hamilton Green intensifies today at the Georgetown Football Club ground, Bourda as the battle for quarterfinal places continue.
The excitement is set to be fever pitch as North East La Penitence face Western B from 6:00PM, West Front Road will compete against Uitvlugt, Reggae Boys and Stewartville collide and Leopold Street tangle with West Side All Stars.
The talented Devon Millington, Quincy Madramootoo, Stellon David and Travis Grant will be turning out for the respective area teams and their exciting and enterprising brand of play will certainly give the fans their money’s worth today.
The final of the tournament is set for December 8 from 9:30PM following the quarter and semifinal matches earlier in the night which starts from 6:00pm.
The teams are battling for the Body Max and International Guyanese entertainer Eddie Grant sponsored respective $200,000 and $100,000 first and second prizes.
Among the sponsors for Mayor’s Birthday Football Fiesta are Body Max Gym who donated the first prize, Guyanese International star Eddie Grant who put up the second prize, BK International, Chris Fernandes, New Thriving Restaurant, Sterling Products, Winston Rambarran, Nigel’s Super Market, Dr. Colin Watson, Crown Mining, Farfan and Mendes, James Bovell of the Business School, DDL and Clem Duncan Snr of Swansea.
